Mission to Mula

Lying in the further southeastern corner of the Comarca or territory of Kuna Yala in the Republic of Panama is the remote and traditional Kuna community of Mulatupu Sasardi.  “Mula” is the headquarters for the Panama Mission, a ministry of St. Mary Magdalene Episcopal Church of Southeast Florida.

The Panama Mission was established to assist in the development of social, economic, educational, healthcare and spiritual resources for the people living here in this wilderness region.  We first came here nine years ago with the goal of strengthening the bonds of friendship and love between the Kuna and the global community.

In October of 2007, we visited Mula with our Rector, Father Mark Sims.  This visit began an awakening among some in Mula, those seeking a deeper understanding of Jesus Christ and the holy gospel.
